Did you increase the tyre pressures to cope with the extra loads of the rear passengers? If not, then it would definitely be a wallowy old Hector... Has anyone fitted a temperature GAUGE into their Festa? I deeply dislike the idea of a light to tell you the car is too hot. I much prefer a gauge. It gives you a lot more info...

You (or a close neighbour) don't have one of those wireless weather stations do you?? They have been known to prevent the car's alarm/immobiliser going into sleep mode, therefore flattening the battery.
