Newbie from Airdrie

Post by billyc »

Hi I'm new to this forum but looking for some help. I'm going to search through the technical section but was hoping someone could shed some light on this problem. Sorry if I should be posting in another area.
I have just bought a 2012 Fiesta Edge For my son in a private sale. There has been an intermittent fault with loud static noises coming from the speakers even when the car is not running. Any advice would be helpful.

Hi, welcome too the forum.

Is the radio a standard fitment? Or after market?

It's standard fitment. The car is a 1.25 Edge so doesn't have Bluetooth. If you give the dashboard a smack just above the Cd slot it stops the noise so I'm thinking something is wrong with the head unit.

I would suspect a faulty head unit too. Small possibility of a wiring issue behind but i dought it.
