Tbh saying the 1.25 is gutless when you drive a ZS isn't saying much when the ZS is the most pathetic 1.6 available (I have had 2 so I'm entitled to say it)

yea thats actually true, tbh what ive heard, im just more interested in its ability to quickly overtake, off the line safely etc, slow cars are dangerous in my view! and yea, the ZS without the 134 or 140 kits is shite, only rly picked up about 3.5k revs, below that feels like pushing a fat man up a hill ;)

In all honest the 1.25 is a good engine not slow for what it is don't listen to some people that have blinkers on (people who drive the ZS)

Tbh, i can keep up (to an extent) with a ZS through town without a problem, the 1.25 has a great bag of torque hidden somewhere, much quicker than you'd expect. Not bad on motorways either, but obviously don't expect turbo boost type torque, more n/a diesels  I get 40mpg+ through town, think i did 60+ on a trip to cornwall not long after getting it. Depends on the driving style.

yea, i know they're nippy definitely, good little 1.25 engines if im honest! and yea the ZS engines are pretty underpowered, however, look good and handle well so, 50/50! ive only ever had ZS fiesta and S1600s so not driven the zetec yet. how did you find your insurance on the 1.25 mate? expensive?

cheers

Not too bad tbh, i was 19 with 2 years driving 1 yrs no claims when i swapped my insurance over, total ended up being just under 1k for the year. Renewal in 1 months time with 3 yrs driving 2 yrs no claims is around the 650 mark, so no complaints from me!
