Gearbox Issues

Post by olinewcombe »

Hi

Hope some one can help.

I have a 1l black edition Fiesta.

1st and 2nd gear sometimes are stiff/difficult to come out of gear. The problem slowly seems to be getting worse, however they go into gear fine and all the other gears seem normal. I'm hoping that some one will be able to give some direction as to what the problem may be.

I have the same.

I thought it might be the lever on the gear selector going stiff.

This video shows how :- https://youtu.be/Oc2tb6_bYWU

But our 15 plate 1.0 e/boost has different colour knobs on the cables, and slightly different design. Anyway the lever was free on its pivot.

My garage suggests changing the gearbox oil.

Must try that.

Hey man,

I have EXACTLY the same issue on my 2016 Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost Titanium. After the car warms up I struggle to shift out of 1st or 2nd. A local gearbox specialist said it might be a possible crack on the 1st and 2nd static hub, causing the hub to expand when it's warm which makes the sliding sleeve difficult to slide over the static hub when coming out of 1st and 2nd gear. I'm hoping that's not it because it's an expensive fix.

Did you find any solutions to the problem? Please let me know!
