Anyone fitted Ford OE DRLs (MS-Design) ?

Post by Graphite »

Hi just a quick question - if anyone has fitted the Ford supplied DRLs?

Like this...

I managed to get hold of a discounted set from a seller on ebay - but there is no template for fitting - or glue or cleaner. So could do with a bit of advice to make sure I get them fitted right - or even your old template if you haven't binned it ;)

Cheers...

Looks like a special bumper or a plastic bit stuck and glued into bumper

Yes - it's a plastic insert. You need to cut the bumper to fix them in. There should be a template in the pack and some cleaner and flexible adhesive...

The template is to position the cutout and thus the DRL in relation to the headlights and bumper lines etc...

I have been to my local Ford dealer - they would help - but don't have any left in stock, I have also emailed MS Design to see if they can give me a downloadable document that I can print out myself :D - other than that its try and find a Fiesta Centura to try to get some close measurements of the position of the lights - that is if they've been put in right in the first place

Don't they advise that it's get done professionally by a bodyshop anyways? Rather them than me on something like this. They do look good though when colour coded.

Well... Story goes from the Ford dealer service guy that all the MS-Design ones were made specifically to go with each Centura vehicle. They are all painted panther black as all the cars are black. He had a terrible time with them going missing from his office! So sounds like people were pinching them to sell on!
He reckoned there was a company in Leicester, I think, who were doing close copies of them.
