Anyone got a guide to installing HIDs?

Looking to get some as I'm chewing through bulbs every couple months or so (25+ hours per week night driving)
I think there used to be a guide somewhere, but I can't find it.
Also, a recommended seller if anyone has one, preferably 6000k 55w kits.
Thank you.

First get 35w not 55w. 55w burns out quicker. No guide is needed really just plug them in original place and secure ballast. You will need to clip a slit in bulb holders or buy them. Here is what they look like Image

I heard 35w are worse than 55w as they just pack them with resistors to make up the extra wattage?

Resistors will increase wattage. Not sure though but all I know is 55w burn out quicker overall and they are bright but after a hour or so of use they look just as bright as 35w

55w kits should last just as long as 35w kits. The ones on my bike have been fine for over 2 years, and I have to put up with the headlights being hardwired ON all the time due to some interfering gov't arse.

If you're regularly blowing normal bulbs, there must be a problem somewhere. What bulbs are you using?? Those supposedly brighter bulbs (nightbreakers etc) don't last as long as a normal halogen bulb. Make sure you buy a good quality bulb though, and not just some cheap shite.

There's a problem with the wiring for the headlights, it has been noticed by many, but ford won't do a recall on it. There was a thread on some ford site but can't remember who linked it and where from. I used Nightbreakers, lasted 6 weeks, what a joke. Bought 10 off eBay for £8, so even if they blow once a week, not spending a fortune on them.

Maybe that's why my left headlight wires melted with cheap HIDS
