Aero/Lip/chin spoiler

Post by FOC_reaper »

Hi there,

Has anyone bought one of these separately and installed it themselves? If so, does anyone have any instructions on installation?

I'm mainly just wondering how to remove the Tri-wing security plugs and what size and length of pop rivets to use.

I've tried using a tri-wing screw driver, but they just spin.

If anyone, has a PDF of instructions that would be handy also.

Thanks in advance

Yes, Yes & Yes

I used a 5.5mm drill to drill out the 'tri-wing security plugs'
I had to hold a couple of them with a pair of pliers while drilling, but wasn't difficult

I then used 4 x M6 cap head bolts with nycloc nuts behind
Better than rivets and removable

You will need a ring spanner for the nuts as opposed to a socket because there isn't much room to get in

Thanks for that..

I was thinking about using nut n bolt rather than pop rivets, and I'd like to remove later and touch it up for repair.

Out of interest what length bolts did you use? and I'm guessing it was 5mm diameter? (sorry not sure what M6 is.. ;) )

6mm diameter bolts

5.5mm will drill slightly oversize as you're drilling out the existing fixings plus its thin plastic

Think they were 25mm bolts

2 minute job, kit should come with 4 pop rivets. Or as previous post use nuts and bolts.
