Buzzing noise.

Post by uk_drum_n_bass »

I have a small buzzing noise comin from behind the stereo. Sometimes it starts when i unlock the car, other times it just randomly starts. It doesnt affect the stereo or anything and it doesnt go up in volume but its annoying as i dont know any other fiestas with this problem.

Buzzing noise.

It's caused by the internal temp sensor for the climate control moving from its mount and laying against the dash, mine had the same & it drove me nuts! Took it to ford as the cars still in warranty & they fixed it in about an hour

I have the full story in pictures if needed (did it my self)
Just have to put some oil on the rotor of the sensor

I have just picked up my new (to me, 2008 titanium) car yesterday and It's doing this now.

Is it easy enough to do? Or should I just get them to do it?

(I have videos of the sound if you wanted to confirm that this is what it was?)

Would be really useful if you could put this up in the Technical Issues section

As soon as the outside temp dropped i start hear mine sensor again the morning.
The silicon grease i applied last for one year+
I'm more then sure that at the official service they are doing the same (and not replacing the sensor)
In order to do it your self:

remove the gearbox cover (just pull it up)

step3.
Remove the fascia of the AC module
Gently pull it away helping with a flat screwdriver
I used paper-scotch in order to protect the dash from scratches
