Numberplate Lights

Post by Figs122uk »

This is going to most likely be a very quick and simple question;
But im replacing my Numberplate lights for something abit more 'white' - Along with my sidelights, dipped beam, interior lights & replacing my indicator bulbs too 'SilverVisions'.

Back onto my numberplate bulbs. As i understood, they were W5W 501 bulbs, yes?

... Well i purchased these (havent arrived yet), and i get the feeling that they arent going too work..
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200648405319? ... 775wt_1139

Don't the numberplate bulbs have too be multi directional, or will these do?
Typically im asking this after ive ordered them...

If they wont do, can someone point me at some that will (Cheep ones, ebay, uk listings please)

Thank you :)

the light you bought will work, but some people have mentioned that some of the number plate does not get lit as the holderes are at a slight angle in the boot.

i bought these instead:

just a quick search, not the same seller but same bulbs, work a treat and light up everything.

if the bulbs you got dont work then use them for ambient lighting, or interior light bulbs :)

Cheers :) - They haven't arrived yet so I'll just stick them in and see either way. Like you say if they don't fit I'll put them in the 'reading lights' on the interior because I was planning too change them anyways.

Thank you for the link, I'll save it now :)

I'll let you know what happens & illg et some pics (y)

Can anyone give a small guide on how to change the number plates lights, as I usually tend to break things apart rather than change/fix.

Regards,
Kris

It looks like you just pop them out from the side using a flat SD?

Want to fit mine today but the weather is so bad :(

Be careful of scratching the paint when removing the plastic covers pal, put a cloth between the paint and the screwdriver or whatever you are using. I made that mistake.
