mirror caps removal!!!
I've saw alot of people ask this question so heres the answer!!! and copyrighted!!!
I took mine off to get the green mold build up from the indicator. But the guide is for whatever you want carbon wrapping to changing the indicator bulbs, mirror glass etc!! And remember its a guide i can't do it for you so i take no responsiblity for anything being broken!
need a small screwdriver, a torch, and gentle but firm hand!!
put the mirror glass, be it manual or electric to the floor (sitting in the car all you see is the floor/ back wheels)
look with a torch between the glass and black plastic and you will see to clips same colour as your car (mines vision blue)
Cap off the clips:
you want to get the screwdriver and flick the clips upwards (towards the roof) and push them forwards (towards the bonnet) be brave and gentle should click and sound horrid like somethings broken then you end up like this:
the mirror back is still clipped into the black plastic in the corner:
just have to jiggle it not to harshly and it sound come off like this heres the clip:
ends up like this:
REBUILD
locate the bottom of the cover (dowels) on the black casing of the mirror:
Make sure this clip goes in like so:
then both hands push the mirror cap back on and you should hear two clicks, the clips goin back on. (i have the camera heres how to hold it )
make sure the mirror still adjusts and the indicator works!!! Etc

When u have the one clip off push the clip forwards with a screwdriver then ping behind the black plastic of the mirror then do the next one then should pop off

Re: mirror caps removal!!!
Hi there,
Thanks for the information. As a Newbie, it's been very helpful.
I want to fix my n/s wing mirror - kinda smashed-off the cap when passing thro a narrow bollard
One of the clips prongs broke-off the coloured-cap.
Once i've replaced the mirror glass, do you think the cap will be secure despite not having all the clips?
If not, would you recommend I glue it to secure? Or have to stump-up and buy a new cap?
Many thanks
