First post here; I've enjoyed reading some of the project threads and thought I should start my own.

I'm only 17 and got my car in February, not long after passing my driving test. I was extremely fortunate to get such a nice first car, and I've developed a keen interest in cars. I've bought a couple of 'Fast Ford' magazines, and I'm keen to make my car my 'own'.

However, I'm fairly limited with the modifications that I can make at the moment due to the potential increase in my insurance; making the car any faster is totally off limits at the moment. So, I'll be sticking to visual mods only just now.

This is the car not long after I got it.

I bought these bulbs, and replaced the dipped headlights. I intend to change the full beam and sidelight bulbs too.

This was the result of the bulb change. I'm quite pleased with how much better they are than the standard bulbs.

My next steps are going to be ordering black and chrome DMB gel overlay badges, and also ClimAir tinted wind deflectors. Hopefully, I'll also have the rear windows tinted soon.

What do you guys think, and what else do you suggest that I do?

nice car matey
as for styling it all depends what style you like ie.....oem , oem+ , rally ,euro , and so on
best bet is to get a load of pics of mk7's that you like and use the bits from the ones you like the most .

Can't say I know the difference between each of those, or even what defines each style.

I've taken quite a liking to your car, very cool. Your photos convinced me that the wind-deflectors were a nice addition.

I'm hoping that small steps will lead to a nice finished car, and I won't make any rash decisions to change bits which ruin it.

I'll be sure to keep this thread updated.

Today I received my ClimAir wind deflectors. Managed to get them fitted when the rain went off and I'm very pleased.

How important is it that I leave the windows in the up position for a full 24 hours?

I recently returned from a week long lads holiday in Magaluf to find that my parents had got my window tints done! :D

The car is looking more and more gorgeous as the weeks go by; I love my tints and am really pleased with how the car is coming along.

What do you guys think?
