MPG??

What sort of MPG should i expect from a 1.4 with automatic transmission??? at the moment i get on average about 41mpg.

We're getting about 42 mpg in a 1.4 manual

I get about 39mpg, the faster you go in the zetec s the more mpg :think:

Are you sure you are getting 41 mpg in an auto? I haven't checked precisely on my 2011 Mk 7 1.4 Auto because I don't have an OBC, but I don't think it is anything like that, (short local runs but not heavy stop-starting). It is generally accepted that the Auto is much heavier on fuel so if you are bettering some of the figures achieved by manuals you are doing very well IMHO.

I have checked the mpg on several occasions.I honestly don`t drive like an old duffer....... :D I am really pleased with 41mpg..

I drove 107 miles on mostly motorway and dual carriageway today, and in the interests of scientific research decided to test fuel consumption (!). Easy driving, top speed was 75 but on average quite a bit less. I filled up to the top before I started and refilled when I got back - got in 3.1 gals. That works out at 35.6 mpg so you are doing better than me Ian...
