Parking module not present in FORScan

Post by dovski »

Hy all,

I bought an ELM tool with the switch on and expected to read the dtc from the PAM module but it isnt listed at all.
The Reverse park sensor lamp illuminates as reverse is selected followed by 6 loud beeps, the lamp then continues to flash until the ignition is switched off and reset. The rear reverse parking sensor switch lamp illuminates steadily very dimly when a reset is carried out until reverse is again selected.
Could be the switch or module or sensors..didnt want to throw a bucket of parts at it to fix..any ideas? Its a 2009 econetic with factory fit sensors front and rear.

Is there only one module in this car or a separate front and rear? There are separate front rear speakers..
If I disco each sensor in turn will the system still see the sensor as faulty if not fitted or will it ignore that channel..?
Any help appreciated

Dov

Im sure theres one control unit that does all. Have you physically checked the control unit? i.e. make sure theres no water damage etc.

Guys
I see there's a fault beep code symptom chart for low ie 4 sensor rear systems. My car is a high 8 sensor version with front and rear. I get a 3 second tone and then 6 beeps.. So, do the 6 beeps identify one of the front sensors perhaps? Can't find anything about the 8 sensor beep code. I thought forscan would pinpoint the sensor for me..
Any ideas? Thx
Dov
