THE RADIO LED GUIDE!
As promised this is the guide to change the SMD LED bulbs in the MK7 radio!
The size led you need is 0805 SMD LED! Make sure they are SMD such as this…
So not what most people this when you say led! (make sure it doesn’t have legs) You can go on ebay and get 50 of them for £3.49 so nice and cheap ☺
Here goes anyway!
Removal of the radio!
Firstly remove the plastic around the top screen! Put your hand like the picture and the same on the opposite side and pull! Should clip off!
Then cover a flat headed screwdriver in masking tape or electricians tape and pop down the section below the radio and then remove it!
There will be four screws to remove here! Two of them are black torx screw heads and the other two I used an adjustable spanner to remove it! (I removed mine before taking the picture!)
Then pull the radio up from the bottom and it should start to slide out…
Remove the clip on the back of the radio!
Remove the four corner torx screws…
you are left with this…
Turn it over and remove the last four torx screws and unclip it around the outside!
you are left with this!
the volume knob just pulls off!
Remove the ruber and them remove the board from the back plastic!
Polarity!
You will get your leds and in the top picture on the underside there is a green triangle! You want to make sure the triangle is pointing away from the positive sign in the next picture! (if your leds have a T on the bottom make the long line point away from the plus!
You can test it when you want just to make sure your soldering is correct!
If anyone wants me to do it for them you can post your radio to me and I’ll do it for £80 colour of your choice!
Thanks for reading!

THE RADIO LED GUIDE!
If I posted the radio and paid you the £80 how long will it take to be returned? And do I need to buy that to. I will be willing to for this though. Depending on time frame.northeastzetecs wrote:i will also be adding a tutorial for the screen and heating control buttons and steering control buttons!
