Sorry, i would have replied sooner ive not been on for a week or two. Thought someone on here might have pointed you to PM me as im a car audio installer! Your car is an early Mk7 upto 2010. Its OK, i got it all sorted :-) I the black metal clip was one of the clips from around the vents, there are quite a few if you look properly and in daylight :oops: Anyway i popped that back in and what i didnt realise is the secret compartment door is also part of what keeps the button panel secure...
