Re: Power fold mirrors close randomly

It wasn't caused by an intermittent air gap - quite the opposite. So, the mirrors started doing their own thing again about 2 days after my last post. Was thinking it could be something weird going on with a central locking but then the doors weren't opening/locking. Turns out it was the mirror cont...

Re: 2009 Titanium - Automatic Mirror Whine

While trying to fix a power fold issue, I removed the mirror from the door. Holding the mirror glass housing in my hand, I made power fold motor work. The motor sounded less strained since it wasn't under much load but still seemed to run for a second after the mirror & mounting stopped at their rot...

Re: Power fold mirrors close randomly

The problem got worse over the Easter weekend to the point that the mirrors were opening & folding several times in a minute & sometimes wouldn't finish their travel before going the other way. Worried that the motors would burn out, I got the door card off & disconnected the mirror connector harnes...

Power fold mirrors close randomly

Hello. My power fold mirrors fold in at random times but notice it happens more often in the morning. They never open back out on their own. I always have to open them back out using the mirror control pad. All mirror functions work as they're supposed to every time. Anyone else seen this or have an...

Sat nav system in mk7

Hi, does anyone have an OEM sat nav in their mk7, or has anyone retrofitted one? If so, could you please send me the details of what you have fitted (part numbers or a photo of what you have) & any extra parts needed. Do you need to do anything with ForScan?

Re: Mk7: No water through rear washer

Just noticed your car is a 1.5 so is it from 2017 or so? I’ve based my reply on my car, which is 2009. I’m not sure if everything is the same so be careful following my advice as I might be giving you duff information.

Re: Mk7: No water through rear washer

I took the spoiler & high brake light off to clean all the muck out, to replace the screws & add plastic washers to protect the paintwork (threads had rotted so not much holding the spoiler on). It’s not a difficult job. I usually take photos like a tourist when I’m dismantling, so if I’ve got any o...

Re: 2009 Titanium - Automatic Mirror Whine

Hello. I realise this is an old post but I have exactly the same issue - motor runs for a second or so after the mirrors have stopped moving & both mirrors rub against the chrome sills. If you fixed this, could you please let me know what you did? Is there any way to repair the scuff marks on the si...

Re: Shaking front Wheels

Are you still getting the shaking? This is probably well documented but I haven't had this on my mk7 so far, although, I have had it on my A4 & it turned out to be the guide pins & pistons. Over time, they can get clogged with dirt that gets under the seals & eventually, they only move under hydraul...

Water leaks

Just like many folk, I found water in the tyre well & watched some videos on where it was getting in. I got the bumper off & found that the 2 vents at the rear had collected a load of dirt in between the chassis & rubber seal. Also, just above those vents are more holes that are covered with black m...
