Both my daughters had similar situations trying to get their first insurance. By adding myself, or wife as an additional driver it halved the amount.

I drove 3 MK 7's before buying the 1.25 I have now, and each felt the same. I'm used to putting my foot hard tp the floor to accelerate, but the fiesta's lose power this way. Only by usuing light pressure do the cars go quicker. I thought I'd get used to it, but after a yr I'm thinking about selling...

I fitted a Pipercross to mine after having tha car a couple of weeks. As you would expect, you can't feel any increase in power, but the car does feel smoother, and the computer indicates mpg is up by 2-3
