disabling the fuel pump on ST

The other day was thinking back to my XR2 days and the DIY alarm and security measures we used in those days.

I then wondered if, as an additional security aid for an ST, would it be possible to disable the fuel pump by breaking into the wire on the earth side of the pump and adding wires to extend the route to earth to a switch hidden somewhere but still easily reachable.

Would attempting to start the engine without the fuel pump working cause any damage?

Would it through up any error codes on start up.

Any thoughts about additional ST security ?
