Can’t connect my phone!!! Pls help!!

I’ve just bought a 2011 fiesta 1.6 tdci titanium and can’t connect my phone to the car!! It has the Sony head unit fitted from the factory (don’t know if that makes any difference?) when I go into the phone menu it says ‘no phones’ but when I try to connect my phone it says it’s full and asks me to debond a phone but when I press debond it says ‘ please wait’ for about 15 secs and then just goes back to playing music. It’s driving me mad and I’ve disconnected the battery but that didn’t help!!
Any help on the matter will be greatly appreciated!!

I fixed that issue on my 2008 model by updating the radio firmware using a usb stick.
