What's the best induction kit for the zetec s?

I'm looking to buy an induction system for my zetec s.

Any suggestions? I was looking at the k&n induction system and the mountune one.

I'm wanting one on which will give the best power increase.

Also whats your views on the mountune cat-back ?

I've got a J1 induction kit, its a top class kit.

Ive always used KnN, cant really fault it, just make sure you keep it clean!

As for the mountune catback, its a good system, all mountune stuff is top notch.

J1 automotive kit here too - been proven too.
performance ford magazine fitted the moutune 140 to their mk7 ZS, saw 140 on AMD's rollers (mountune use these rollers too), then saw 146bhp i believe when they'd fitted a J1 kit. the mountune 140 replaces the original air filter with a k&n panel filter in the original air box.
exhaust wise, mines getting a custom jobbie soon

I have the Pipercross from pumaspeed. Only £120. been proven to give +6bhp when combined with full miltek exhaust. Have to say it sounds really good too, have received alot of good coments about the deep grunt it gives

how do you know its the induction kit adding the 6+bhp rather than the exhaust? only way to know if the induction kit adds power is to have the car rolling roaded with no other mods...

Just fitted J1 today - not nearly as good gains as promised in the description (though the ECU may need some time to adjust, I dyno'd it just before and after putting J1), but the sound is really amazing

I have recently fitted a K&N Mountune kit on my girlfriends Zetec S, noticable power increase for the money, sounds a little nicer as well. We are selling the car now so if anyone wants the filter and the Mountune/Samco hose it comes with for £50 pm me! Its been on the car about 3 weeks so as new!
