Blower engine problems / service / replacement

My 2009 Fiesta has developed an issue with the blower engine / fan. On higher speed settings it makes a distinct whizzing noise. Still works but it's very annoying. I'd like to clean it and see how it's doing but for whatever reason I can't find information anywhere on where the blower engine is located or how to get it out. Is it in such a place that it's simply too hard to reach for a regular DIYer, hence no information? Thanks in advance!
