iPhone 3g + Standard ICE via USB
Hi All,
Quick issue that I'm having with my fiesta. I first used my iphone 3g with just the official apple usb cable and it seemed to work fine. Music was playing and I was able to browse through playlists, artists etc at the same time through the stereo. I synced my iphone with my laptop and since then, I cant seem to do the same thing again. When I connect, whichever playlist was playing last on the iphone itself plays on the car stereo. I can skip tracks but cant access playlists, artists etc. Just to add, my car has the Ford standard ICE kit w/ USB and AUX in, not the Sony one. Tried a different cable and ipod and still the same issue. Ford are having me wait until late next week before I can take it in, I was just wondering if anyone could shed a light on what the problem was and whether it's safe for me to do myself instead.
Thanks,

Yeah it slows it right down, have you re-synced it since the problem?

Quite a few times yeah. I don't think the problem is with the iphone tbh, I tried another cable and ipod nano 4g and still had the same issue. Occassionaly, the ford display shows a quick flash of the playlists and goes back to the now playing mode. Seem to me like a software issue but the only software update I have come across is for the sony units.Jdun5746 wrote:Yeah it slows it right down, have you re-synced it since the problem?

Response from Ford was that 'Well we did say its partially supported, cant do anything about it'. Despite the fact it was working properly a couple of weeks ago, and now doesn't, like its just changed its mind or something.

You should double check that! I had problems with my stereo, not usb or iPhone as I dont have either, one minute it was all fine then problems with bluetooth and most of the other functions then after a while it would be back to normal. Took it to Ford twice and they told me there was nothing wrong the first time, then they sorted it by updateing the software the second time. Still wasnt right after that so went back and they told me I had the latest update and that my phone wasnt compatiable so I checked on the Ford website which said it was. Went back to Ford and told them so they said they'd need to keep the car for 2 days to check it all but within three hours I had my car back because all they needed to do was update the software which they obviously hadnt done before. They just try and get out of doing any warrenty work as they dont make any money, you should keep pestering them until they sort it!rufnek2kx wrote:Response from Ford was that 'Well we did say its partially supported, cant do anything about it'.
