Connects2 device - has anyone used these?

Post by andyslack »

I have a 2009 59 Fiesta Econetic and want to connect my Kenwood KDC-5751SD head unit to it.

I've tried Autoleads but they don't have anything with the correct Fiesta loom connection.

I've tried the CTSFO004 and am finding when all is connected the Kenwood unit won't power up. It has some power as I can load and eject CDs, but there is no other sign of life on the head unit.

Am I doing something wrong? I've unplugged everthing umpteen times and connected in all possible orders but still no joy.

Am I supposed to wire a cable from the car battery to the head unit? Thought it was meant to be plug-and-play...

Thanks
Andy

You need to wire up an ignition supply to the red wire on the Kenwood. Nothing is plug and play these days unless its VERY expensive as modern wiring is really complicated. Dont go poking around with a test lamp unless you know what you're doing. It will be pretty cheap for a pro to do this. You've done the hard bit.
