I had to stop driving tonight as i thought my front headlamps had packed up.... Only to realise the headlights in my Zetec S are not very good. They were working just not very bright!
So i want to replace the headlights with brighter ones... I don't want to go down the HIDs road... So who can recommend brighter whiter bulbs that are tried and tested? Makes and specs if poss ( as low a price as poss)

100w bulbs are the brightest (non xenon) bulb you can get. Whether you're brave enough to get them is another matter!

Wiring not likely to like carrying double the current it was designed for (in reality the additional voltage drop in the wiring will also give you slighltly lower voltage at the 100W bulb than the 55W bulb and thus a slightly yellower light), possibility of meltiong plastic parts in the headlights due to double the heat produced by the 100w bulbs, and they are not road legal.
