lowering in surrey

Post by Wilko »

Anyone know anyone/anywhere in the Surrey/Hampshire area that could fit a set of lowering springs on my S1600 for a fair price?

If you feel capable enough, all you need is a set of spring compressors, a jack, axle stands, a few hours and maybe a couple of coffee breaks :D Did mine, wasn't too bad, replaced both rear springs and back on the ground in an hour, fronts took an hour per corner. Including a friends fag breaks :) Good fun and the self accomplishment is also a nice bonus.

Why do you need spring compressors o thought they just slide on job done but then thinking about it they will need to be compressed to get the suspension back in lol

You can pick up a pair of spring compressors for around £15-20, you should have a jack in your spare wheel kit, and you don't really need axle stands, but definitely recommended for safety and ease of use. I rang Ford to ask them to fit mine at an approved Eibach specialist centre, they wanted almost £200! So spent 10x less, and enjoy knowing i did it myself (plus a friend) and shoved a middle finger up to Fords pricing system :)
