Replacing AUX Port

Up until now my iPods been working fine, I've got an aux cable with dock connector so I can charge my iPod at the same time, don't have USB in my car. All of a sudden it's stopped working, thought it might be the cheap eBay cable but it works fine in other cars as does my iPod. Does anyone know if it's possible to change the aux port without going to my rubbish local ford dealers? Or does anyone have any other ideas?

Can change it yourself if you buy the parts?

Cheers mate, any idea what bits I need and how hard it is to do? Thinking of getting one of the DVD/GPS headunits in the future so if it's a pain in the ass I'll leave it until I get the the new headunit.

The plastic trim just pops out, use plastic trim tool if you have one or cover a screwdriver with a cloth.
Tracing the cable up to the stereo requires more work but removing everything is covered in my video:
