Cutting the coils!

Hi,

I'm new to modifying new cars a need some help and advice. I want to lower my fiesta but I'm not fortunate to be able to buy some new coils. I just haven't got the free money to do so at the moment. From a few google searches and people telling me I can simply cut the bottom on the coil.

Is there anyone who has done this or actually know it's a safe thing to do and won't get me into any unwanted repairs because of doing this!

Thanks.

Cutting the coils is really not a good idea. You risk the spring coming out of its seat.

Your best bet is too keep an eye out on eBay for a second hand set.

I got some Apex springs for £116 off ebay brand new... cutting springs is dangerous, your life is worth more than £116.
