GearBox lever was suddenly 'limp'

GearBox lever was suddenly 'limp'

Hi all,

My gearbox lever is limp and no longer springs back to the centre. Feels very light to move around with no resistance. Moves into gears with no problem apart from 3rd as it no longer goes back to centre.

In the MK7 is this the cable that would be broken or is there a gear lever return spring?
Any idea of cost/labour?
