The Great DAB Upgrade Mystery!

Hi Everyone!

First post on here, and hopefully it might help a few others as a result :)

The OH has a 2013 Fiesta Ecoboost which came with the Ford Stereo with Bluetooth and handsfree as standard. I've replaced the head unit with a Sony DAB unit and colour display; when I connected the stereo initially it came on with DAB no problem; changed between inputs and worked great. then after a few hours faffing with the fascia and the stereo on I tried to change to FM using the radio button - it didn't work but it let me change through the menus...ever since then the DAB function has vanished!

First option was to use IDS, download the car configuration, change the stereo from low end to high end branded, and enable the DAB receiver option - Uploaded the config successfully but no joy. When I downloaded the car configuration again the stereo option had updated, but it had reset the DAB option back to not enabled again! Changed again an re-uploaded a further two times, but no success.

I've done some digging around and asked a few questions, but nothing seems to have come to light - someone has suggested using focccus as they do mention being able to connect to Fiestas to an extent, but there is no firm information if it works or not! Obviously ELMConfig (Which I've used successfully on my Mk4 Mondeo to update the Bluetooth module) won't work either; other sources seem to suggest that I need to find a fiesta of the same spec with DAB enabled as standard and upload it's as-built config....this sounds a bit dodgy not to mention being a bit of a mare to try and get hold of!

I've tried to find a way for IDS to allow me to download my current config to XML to edit (or even to keep just in case things go wrong with using different as built data), but no joy. I've found a Russian website that allows me to edit an as-built XML file; but don't see how this would be any different than a live edit of the config using IDS?

It seems really weird that it seems to change the config back on the car after allowing the change in the config menu; I would have thought it would have been disabled as an option!

Has anyone successfully managed to do this yet or can give any pointers on the above? Seems a few people are trying to do this and it seems that everyone is falling down on this seemingly simple problem! I'm willing to try things (as long as It won't kill the car lol) - I'm using a VCX Nano with IDS v95 which connects and talks to the car great and i've got a modified ELM327 if anyone has any suggestions how to get focccus working.... :D
