Tapping noise on cold start up

My 61 plate Fiesta Metal has developed a tapping noise on cold start ups...it's covered 36000mils and serviced once a year...last oil change was end of June...the tapping noise almost goes when hot, but can still hear a faint tapping, I've always used Ford oil and filter, I'm wondering if it's a sticky valve lifter....any ideas...
