car cant start after fob battery change

hello

The range on my fiesta fob was getting quite bad, so i changed the battery. Now i can stand a mile away and unlock it!

BUT!!

whenever i try to turn the car on on, the immobiliser LED flashes very fast and at the end morses the code "1-3". i tried some suggestions found through google, like turning the key to position II within 6 seconds ect. but nothing has helped.

The car is out of warranty, so i'm hoping for a solution!

It sounds like you need to pair the key with the ECU again. I'm not sure what the exact procedure is on the Fiesta though.

It will be something like -

Key in and turned to position 1
Press the lock button on the key
Press the unlock button

Or could be

Key in and turned to position 1
Press the lock button and turn to position 2
