Hi

I am seriously considering getting my Mk7 Zetec S Fiesta upgraded to 140bhp with the Mountune kit. However I have been put off by a friend who knows someone that had it done.

Apparently the person he knows wanted to sell his Mountune Fiesta to a dealer, but when they put it up on the ramps to check the car was sound they said the Miltek exhaust that comes with the Mountune kit had a plaque saying the exhaust is not road legal.

I have looked all over the Internet but can't find anything that says this. However the dealer was adamant his car had an ilegal exhaust and would only take it if they charge him for fitting a new one. Is the Mountune exhaust really so noisy that its ilegal? I don't wanna fit it if there is a chance I will get done and asked to remove it!

My guess is the guy was trying to scam him out of some more money, I don't know anyone that had a problem with mountune, and I can't see a company like that fitting illegal exhausts I wouldn't worry personally

montune have been doing ford for a while. My mate got his MK6 ST tuned by them and his is fine...he is even going back for the stage to take it to 200 BHP!
they are a well respected company so cant imagine it being against the law

Yeah its a sports cat but someone may have removed it etc!
Personally if it's the right kit Mountune fit or supply then the place is pulling a fast one!

ask your mate if its a decat!

The mountune exhaust is road legal, its ford approved! Its only a 4-1 manifold, sports cat and catback. Ive had mine mountuned over 2 years now and its been spot o .

I haven't heard an issue on Mountune Exhaust Manifold similar to that. since it is legal you have to be careful with that dealer.
