Stereo upgrade

Hi everyone, need to upgrade the sounds in my 2009 zetec s, this is what I plan to do. Get a RCA converter and tap off the rear of the stereo for the rear speakers (as mine ain't got any connected) then run RCAs to boot and split using Y splitters for Sub and Rear output. Then plan to connect to 4 channel amp two channels for a set of 6.5" components on the back shelf, then bridge other two for a small 10" sub. Anyone else do this or can see any pitfalls before I buy the gear? Really want to keep standard head unit but 2 front speakers just ain't cutting it! Thanks
