Hi all, picked up my s1600 at the weekend & it's superb, love it!!

One thing I have noticed, is that at slow speeds (mostly when manoeuvring) the steering is a little clunky!!....as in it makes little clunking noises....has anyone else had this? Anything to be concerned about??

I got a brand new ZS and do notices some clunking when doing 3 point turns. Nothing to worry about I don't think

No worries, I was told that a software update to the torque sensor would sort it, not sure how true it is tho!!

Clunking sounds like a mechanical fault so god knows how a software update would fix that problem!

Monitor it, if it seems to get worse, back to the dealer...

I know they're an electric steering pump but have you checked the fluid level? Can have quite a big effect on conventional systems if it's low

ok guys - update on this one....i had a service a couple of weeks ago & ford updated the torque sensor software & re-greased a couple of joints on the steering rack (apparently they dry out).....theres still a tiny bit of the nocking on full lock every now & again, but its MUCH improved, so appears to be sorted :)
