Re: DMB Gel Overlays
Ben,
Are those the standard Zetec-S wheels? Obviously with a colour coating on them.
Reason I ask is I'm getting my Zetec-S at the end of the week and want to order the wheel centre overlays but without the car to measure them I wasn't sure what size to go for, but I guess it's 55mm.
Also with regards to fitting I assume they work the same as the Front/Rear badges and go over the existing Ford logos?
Mark

Re: DMB Gel Overlays
Hi Mark,
Yes they are the standard ZS wheels
And correct they are 55mm centre caps, as far as I know all Mk7 Fiesta's have the same size centre caps in the alloys
One thing I will say, I applied them all as directed, degreased all the badges and I also took the centre caps out the wheels to do it.
But I found that because the centre caps are convex the badges were pealing off at the edges, so I took them off, applied a very thin layer of glue on the back of them all, then wrapped masking tape all the way round just to secure them while it dried.
The front and rear badges have been fine though.

Do the centre caps come out easily?
Any recommendations for which glue to use?
BTW, really like what you've done with your car some really nice mods on it.

Re: DMB Gel Overlays
I've never tried to take them out without the wheels off
But with the wheels off they just push out
And thanks, really happy with how it is!

Re: DMB Gel Overlays
When replacing the steering wheel badges, are there instructions included with the product?
Could you possibly explain to me if not?

Re: DMB Gel Overlays
No they dont come with instructions. DMB gel overlays are basically just like a sticker, best to warm them up when you put them on to make sure they stick. When I done my steering wheel badge I actually took the original one off and stuck the DMB one on with super glue as the overlay was slightly smaller than the original badge and could be seen, but that was just my choice to do it like that.whitebeauty91 wrote:When replacing the steering wheel badges, are there instructions included with the product?

I was also hoping to fit HIDs but the process sounds a bit complicated with a leveling motor? Would it not work with the one I have in at the moment? If not how would I go about this process?

Re: DMB Gel Overlays
legally you need SELF LEVELING motors which are worked out by how much your suspension is compressed(i think)whitebeauty91 wrote:I was also hoping to fit HIDs but the process sounds a bit complicated with a leveling motor? yes the levling motors in our car can be used but it wont be legal!
and now they have to be factory fitter to pass an mot anyway
