1.6 tdci not starting problem

1.6 tdci not starting problem
Parked van, came back 30 mins later and will not start, there is a steering wheel with exclamation mark flashing on dash not a kick not even turning over like its immobilised. Someone please help.

Could try disconnecting battery for abit

Sounds like the steering column lock is malfunctioning. Can you unlock the steering wheel, or get the ignition to turn on.
