Working on the car yesterday and noted that both door sills have lost paint at the leading edges and have corrosion a few inches square on each side...
is this common or should I complain, cars 56k econetic tdci...

Definately worth asking the dealer.
Older Fords are known for rust, but not seen any Mk7s rust.

If there's signs of paint chips or damage, Ford won't entertain it.
also.... is the corrosion in the area where the cill can be knocked with feet getting in and out of the car ?
ask the dealers anyway.... if they won't rectify it under the corrosion warranty, then best do it yourself, probably do a better lasting job.
