Hi, my 1.6 TDCI had died out and now wont start. An engine management light is displaying on the dash.
It is turning over and sounds like it is very close to starting but just doesn't catch. Nearly like its trying to start on two cylinders.
I started by presuming that it was not getting fuel so changed the diesel filter in the hope that it was just blocked.
Any immediate ideas to work out what is wrong? I.e Symptoms to tell if it is pump not building enough pressure, blocked injectors, buggered pump.
Thanks

Re: MK7 TDCI, Died out and wont start
Generally diesels start with bad filters, because of the high pressure from the fuel pump. Maybe bad glow plugs or clogged injectors?

The more I think about it I don't think it would be glow plugs as the car stopped dead while I was driving along the road. The glow plugs will only cause issues when starting??
