2012 Fiesta 1.25 Flat Spots

Hey everyone, I am really curious as to what would be causing flat spots in this car? Or whether they are just normal for this car?

Say I am in 3rd doing 2000rpm and I put my foot flat to the floor it revs up slowly until about 2500rpm then I feel it pull back then it starts accelerating and then it does the same at about 3500rpm its really bad.

Any ideas what could be the problem or cause this?

Hi, my 2012 1.25 has done this since new...if you back off the accelerator a touch you'll find it picks up.
I think it's just how it's mapped. Probably an emissions thing!
They do have a surprising turn of speed of you accelerate gently.
