Jolting when lifting off the throttle

Post by Khc »

I have recently purchased a econetic (60 plate) with 30,000 on the clock. Things are generally fine but it has developed an annoying problem. On taking your foot off the throttle, the car jolts. Sometimes straight away (lower speeds) and sometimes after a few seconds. Some days are worse than others.

Any ideas?

Thought I'd add a little more. The problem seems to happen when the car is warmed up and at small throttle openings as well - it feels like it holding back ever so slightly...lift your foot and there's a jolt or two...seems worse at slower engine speeds.

Someone has suggested throttle sensor...thoughts?.

I have an econetic on a 12 plate and it does the same both going on or off the throttle very lightly. It's been like that since new (well 3-months old with 900m on the clock when I bought it) and it's now done 58,000m. I suspect it's just the fuel injection programme that's a bit sharp shutting down or starting up the fuel injection
