Track Focused Zetec S

Post by Adz.ZS »

The time has come. My track orientated mind has given up holding out. I have decided to make slight alterations to my Zetec S to make it a bit track orientated. I care not for fancy interiors ATM ( although some are very nice, Ben , lol ) but items that will help make it more enjoyable round a track.
I took it round the 'Ring, standard, and was amazed that it did what it did. Stunned is probably a better way to describe it.
M3's, Porsches, M5's, Audi's, Focus RS's etc etc. They couldnt keep up with the lil' ZS. Brilliant.

But after much deliberation i have decided to make slight improvements that will aid its hunger for UK Circuits :)

Im starting small and fairly easy. Just Bought a Piper Panel Filter to replace the standard one. Next is a OMP Strut Brace to aid in front end chassis strength. And finally for now ( if i can finnish the deal ), a second hand set of full on race wheels with slick tyres.

Im open to any suggestions from other peope open to my ideas and welcome much needed advice. Cheers :)

Welcome! Weight loss is good for track, depends how much of your interior you want too loose!

If you going to be using it everyday you dont want to loose to much though!

Thanks for the welcome lol. Im planning on removing the rear seats and anything that can easily be removed ie spare wheel a boot carpet. Brakes are going to be sorted by pumaspeed at the next service. 260mm dimpled and grooved discs should do nicely.
This is all in aim of a trackday to Croft on the 20th Aug. Fingers crossed :)

Cheers Ben. Just trying to get these wheels. Not easy via email.
I would love a brake upgrade. And maybe a little more power. But as usual no £££.
Makes me sad lol :(

coilovers would be a good addition. can be pricey but would make a massive difference to the handling. cut your lap times right down!

I would love coilovers. Alas, money is once again ever missing. Might have to settle with lowering springs for now and start selling organs to gain more finances lol.
