Alloys info?
Does anyone have experience with 18" alloys?
I have found a set of alloys i have set my eyes on, but they only come in 18s, so was wandering if anyone knew if they wouldn't sit right in the arches, or makes the car far too sluggish?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Sean.

Re: Alloys info?
depends on the width and the offset of the wheels for a start

Re: Alloys info?
Alloys - 18" 4x100/108 ET42
Tyres - 215/35x18 OR 225/40x18
I'm not sure what offset is if i'm honest, learn something new everyday.

Re: Alloys info?
offset is the same as et which is listed at et42
still doesn't say what width they are though

Re: Alloys info?
If you mean what width are the alloys, then i have no idea, i could probably find out.
But the tyres come in either 215 or 225's depending on if i want a lower/higher profile.

Re: Alloys info?
For any individual alloy or steel wheel, ET and Offset both have the same meaning and value. The term ET originates from the German word 'Einpresstiefe' which translates as 'insertion depth'.
A:The distance between the rim's center line and its
mounting surface. From the picture below it should be
obvious why it's important to retain proper offset when
you change rims: tire not centered properly affecting
drivability (negative roll radius changes), bearing load,
rubbing on the struts or wheel arches, etc.

Right ok, so i understand that they need to be centred properly or they won't function as they should be, but how do i figure out what it a centred offset or not?

Re: Alloys info?
Anyone know what the standard offset it on the Fiesta?
Need to know the width of the new wheels as well.

Re: Alloys info?
An ideal offset would be et38 on a 7.5 x18 alloy with a 215/35/18 tyre . With that spec you get no rubbing or anything and you can go lower aswell with no probs... hope that helps matey
