sensitive throttle

I drove 3 MK 7's before buying the 1.25 I have now, and each felt the same.
I'm used to putting my foot hard tp the floor to accelerate, but the fiesta's lose power this way. Only by usuing light pressure do the cars go quicker. I thought I'd get used to it, but after a yr I'm thinking about selling it.
Does anyone know why this is the case? As I said I test drove the 1.25, 1.4 & 1.6, and they were all the same. Or is there an upgrade for the ECU?
