Unconnected cable?

Post by czajnik »

Hi!

A few days ago I bough a second-hand Fiest Mk7 (2009). Unfortunately I've spotted this thing after buying the car, but well...

Please take a look at the images - what is this connector supposed to be connected to? Any help appreciated!

The parking sensors are not working properly - can it be anything related?

Best Regards.

Theres no way thats the air flow meter plug, that one will have at least 4 wires.

Looking at it again its in the wrong position to be airflow sensor anyway, like patterson said it could be the fan.

Just had a look on mine and it plugs in on the left hand side of the bonnet catch, inbetween the screw at the front and the other connector on that wire. Not sure what it does could be somthing to do with alarm or sensor to let you know the bonnets open.

Exactly! I looked into my car again, just to find an empty socket at the bonnet catch - funny enough, the socket is empty! I mean - there are no pins there, it's a kind of plastic "fake socket". I guess there's something mounted there in a more expensive version - but I've no idea what it could be. Any ideas?

Anyway, I've taken better pictures with my SLR, you can find it here. The first one shows the dangling plug, the second shows it plugged into the "fake socket".

BTW, there is also this second cable plugged into the block just behind the bonnet catch. Can someone enlighten me what is this for?

On the pictures you can also see that the bonnet catch is slightly bent - I'm afraid I didn't pay enough attention while buying this car, most likely it was crashed and repaired :(
