engine squeek

Post by huwtraws »

I have a annoying squeeky noise coming from my engine.
It sounds similar to a fan belt when its slipping.
But when I have looked it doesn't seem to be the fan belt.
This noise is driving me up the wall!
It seems to make this noise after I've been for a long drive, so when I take it the Ford garage thats 10 mins down the road, I look like an idiot when it makes no noise.
Anyone have a clue what this can be??

Did you have any luck resolving your squeek? I have a similar problem with my Fiesta Zetec 1.25 it's only six months old and makes the belt slipping noise you describe but mine does it soon after it's started from cold. The car has been back to John Grose in Lowestoft who had the car for 2 days and could find nothing wrong, they said the serpentine belts are "non adjustable" and that it would probably "wear itself in" but i'm not happy at all and am going back next week to demand a new belt.

No none of them had it before.

Ah it sounds like you have the same as me then mate. My car is over 3 years old so no warrinty :( but me and the old man are mechanics so if we knew the problem we could solve it ourselfs, but obviously its sounds like one of those jobs where it takes hours to find and minuites to fix
