Titanium to same height as zetec s

Post by jasonl1599 »

Hi all,

I'm looking to lower a tdci titanium to the same height as zetec s, as know when I get some bigger wheels (currently on ford 16s) it will look like on stilts :)

I'm not after anything extra low, just the normal ride height of zetec s.

Will Buying just the zetec s springs from a dealer be enough, or do the zetec s's have different shocks also? Also has anyone priced these up?

Thanks for help

I'd just put up a wanted add, bound to me many people who have fitted eibach's or such on zetec s you'll get them much cheaper that way ;)

If previous experience in other vehichles it tends to be just the springs that are fitted to the better model of the same car and the struts remain the same

Cheers, thanks for your advise. I thought as much about the springs, and I'll put a wanted up.

Hi, am I right in thinking the 30mm eibach springs bring the titanium to the height of the zetec s? If so, would fitting these outside of a ford dealership (i.e. with a handy friend or relative) invalidate my car's warranty? I suspect the answer is yes... But not sure.

It would take you 20mm lower than a Zetec S and needs to be installed by a VAT registered garage.

Thanks Nath for confirming that... Not sure I want it that low... I'll keep my eyes peeled for someone selling their springs after upgrading themselves... Just very conscious that my Fiesta is looking a little like it's on stilts at the moment :)

Many thanks again,

James

Thank you so much for these links, that's really kind of you! I've messaged the chap to check if they're off a diesel Zetec S. I thought the diesel had stiffer springs for the heavier engine, or am I making up nonsense? :)

You're right about the diesel ones being stiffer, i've got the eibach ones on my 1.6 tdci titanium, had them on for nearly a year now and they don't lower it excessively, i can still get 2 fingers and a pinky between the tyre and the arch and i've got fingers like walls finest ;-) they don't compromise the ride comfort either which is a bonus
