Display Fuel Distance to empty

Post by craigomills »

Picked up wifeys new Titanium 1.4 last week and overall am very happy with the car...

However, upon collecting it I put in £20 worth of fuel, the display said 75 or so miles until empty. We went for a 40 mile drive and the display pretty much stayed the same eventually dropping down to 50 when the fuel light came.
I then filled the tank and the distance only went up to around 250 miles. SURELY a 1.4 fiesta driven economically would go further than 250 miles??? Having now driven the car for approx 50 miles, the display hasn't moved.

I am a tad confused and/or worried that there is something wrong. I have reset the trip computer, reset the MPG but this has made no difference, I get around 38-45 mpg.

Any advice welcome...

Cold weather maybe confusing things. I'd not go off the computer, use the brim to brim method of an accurate mpg.

What would you normally expect to get out of a full tank of fuel? Assuming driven economically etc (Wife)

The computer is still adjusting itself to your driving style and will update accordingly.
