Diesel particulate filter removal
Would involve removing filter and altering settings on ecu

DPF is part of the exhaust system, quite restrictive. There's a video on YouTube of a mk7 with that and the cat removed, it's chucking out some right shit.

In theory, couldnt you swap the exaust for a pre DPF one, i.e. <2010?

Re: dpf delete
I've been looking into a remap and/or DPF delete/removal... The best quote I've had so far is from AMD in Essex who quoted £399.95 inc VAT. The gains are 20-25bhp and 30-35lbft of torque with the biggest difference low down and mid range. This is with a road test with data logging to start with to make sure the car is performing as it should, rolling road before to test standard power and then a map on the rolling roadto suit your car. Finishing we a rolloing road run to give a print out of the before and after results.
Normal driving will apparently also give much better mpg due to the increased torque meaning not having to push the car so hard when driving normally (less throttle to get to desired speed = less fuel).
The remap doesn't require a physical DPF removal either, which I found reassuring as would prefer the car to be left as "standard" as possible. They do offer that service, but only recommend it if you're having trouble with the DPF.
Another company www.shaiklymotorcompany.co.uk has offered a remap with full physical DPF removal and all associated ECU tweaks for £600 plus VAT. They would expect 120bhp and 272nm to be the end result on that.
At the moment I am leaning towards AMD, purely because I've heard such good things from a variety of sources... Anyone care to add to this?
