Upgrading to 2013 Look
I have been umming and arring this in my mind for the last few weeks. I have spoken to a friend of mine who works at Ford in Guernsey and we have come up with a cunning plan. I am going to facelift my Titanium TDCi to the latest, fresh new 2013 look. According to my friend, the only parts that would require to be replaced to completely facelift the Fiesta are;
New front bumper
New front LED projector headlights
New bonnet
New rear tail lights
Possibily new front wings.
I am fortunate enough to have found a new 2013 Titanium car here on Guernsey which has had quite a nasty T-bone indicent (hire car!) which is going really cheaply as Europcar don't want to ship it back to the UK. It is the wrong colour; but I can get a respray. It also has the new Sony Radio System with 5" colour Sat Nav with reverse camera, so that is something else I'm going to look into doing. I'm hoping to do this using the parts from the donor car which I managed to pick up at the crash auctions we have in the CI for £3,500. A bargin! It is a complete write off though, but any left over parts I will be looking at selling... (Anyone want a 1.0 ECOBoost 125PS?)
I will get photos and a step by step guide going as I go and will let you know on how she turns out!

Name your confections!!
Sounds a good plan though, i wander the price of all the parts needed direct from ford. Wouldn't mind a facelift at all

if you got your part ex value plus the 3k you have spent getting that write off car - plus the hours of work at say - £50 an hour - you would have been far better off chopping in your car with 3k more and buying a new one.
To be honest - probably wont need that much. Good luck with it anyway!

That was my first thought, chopping mine in and getting the new Titanium X, but at very nearly £20,000 and mine being valued at £7,000 it was a lot of money to find! Ford dealers here don't do haggling, and even if I bought it in the UK it would still cost whatever I saved in discount on shipping! Will see what happens though.andyessex wrote:if you got your part ex value plus the 3k you have spent getting that write off car - plus the hours of work at say - £50 an hour - you would have been far better off chopping in your car with 3k more and buying a new one.

Oh by the way my favourite confection is Kendal Mint Cake, can't get it for love nor money in GSY!
