A couple of questions about our 2013 Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost 28K miles
Fiesta was left standing in carport for nearly 4 weeks with nothing left on (ie lights /radio) . Tried to start it but the battery was completely flat - not a flicker anywhere. Had to open car with key. Battery voltage down in the 11V range .
Have disconnected the battery and I'm doing a trickle charge overnight. Hopefully battery can be saved as its less than 3 years old.
However assuming the battery is dead and wont hold a charge then obviously I'll need to replace it.
Questions :
1) Is the battery (I believe its a calcium 075E type ) covered under Fords standard 3 year warranty (internet prices seem to range from £75 to £145 depending upon source and make)?
2) Does the new battery need to be "coded" to the car (like my BMW) or is it a straight swap that wont require the car to be hooked up to a PC?
3) Any suggestions is to why this may have happened ? The car does NOT do lots of short journeys and has been faultless until now - with no warning lights showing.
4) Any recommended sources of new batteries?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
dead battery ? any issues in replacing with a new one.
